Cobh Summer Swing

Cobh Summer Swing is a unique event to Cobh! It is held durning liner season and is free to everyone. Set in the Promenade over looking Cork Harbour 100 metres from where the cruise liners berth. It has a wonderful Victorian bandstand and magnificent views of St. Coleman's Cathedral.

The event has been taking place since 2008, originally started by The Cobh & Harbour Chamber to coincide with the arrival of the cruise liner, 'Independence of the Seas' on her maiden voyage. he Port of Cork and Cobh Town Council came on board with sponsorship of live music and free entertainment,

The cruise liners bring many thousands extra visitors to the town along with both, domestic and overseas visitors that Cobh attracts durning the year. We also hold additional events for local community groups, most coinciding with large cruise liners coming to Cork Harbour Cruise Terminal in Cobh.

The stall holders market, which is on the promenade , normally has stalls selling local arts and crafts and artisan food. We always have a free community or charity stall where local groups can raise much needed funds. We have always believed that local arts and craft should be fostered and given the opportunity to sell their products for a nominal fee.

Our events are aimed to please everyone, come along and enjoy a special day in Cobh!

Peter Kidney

Peter is the main organiser of the event. He has had over 20 years experience in Farmers Markets and been part of Cobh Summer Swing since it launched. Peter together with other volunteers works tirelessly to make sure Cobh Summer Swing and other events are a success!
